In May, we sold our home of 12 years in Iowa and moved back home to Helena, MT. We have 3 daughters and two of them live in Helena along with 3 grand kids and 1 great grand baby that is 18 months that we never met until now.
I have some gorgeous male puppies available for show or companion homes. I have one gorgeous 6 month old show prospect as well as three 3 1/2 month old puppies. These are all smooths. Then I have 1 long coat 10 month old neutered male that is a fantastic family dog. All are very well bred from winning sires and dams.
I am not sure how involved I am going to remain in showing/breeding dogs so these may be the last I have available for a while, or maybe ever. So those of you who have been waiting for a Lamars puppy, this might be the time to step up and get one.

Halloween is upon us and it has been cool and rainy here in the Midwest. Altho it is a nice change from the heat and drought we had this summer.
I have actually been able to get away to go to some dog shows this fall and it was nice to see old friends. I am out of practice with the packing and getting ready, though. So it will take me a few more trips (if I can find the stamina) to get myself organized. Thank Goodness I will be 'saved by Ole Man Winter'.
I have some beautiful Male puppies available for show or family pets or agility prospects. There is 2 beautiful red/white long coat boys...sired by Am Rus Ch. Zuran's Sky King out of the top producing dam Fandando Lamars Heart N Soul-L. One is show and one is most likely going to be a lovely pet prospect.
There is another litter by Sky King and the dam is Ch. Lamars Blaze To Glory-S. One is a tri smooth coat male (gorgeous) and another is a fawn with black sabling male( also gorgeous). At this point (11 weeks) they both look super promising.
The last litter had a boy and girl and I am keeping the girl since she is the only girl I have had this year! The boy is a bigger smooth coat boy white or light cream. He is MR Personality.
But then again...all these boys have lots of personality. So please, if you are looking for another family member or a new show/stud prospect..give me a call.

MENTORING
Today something I have thought about for a long time I came to a decision. Over the past 30 odd years I have always been willing to offer my time and what little knowledge I have garnered of this complex sport and art of dog showing and breeding. Many people have happily picked my brain and I was happy to have them do so.
But as the years have gone by I have noticed the society is changing as a whole and even in our dog game. People are less appreciative and have no loyalty to their mentors.
So, since I am 65 years old and who knows how many years I have left, I am going to be much more careful of whom I will honor with my time. I understand the new person coming into this is full of questions and think nothing of picking up the phone no matter the time of day and taking an hour of your time or more...on a never ending basis sometimes.
Consideration should be taken by people to understand...we all have lives outside of dogs and ask your questions and then get off the phone or email or whatever. And if you do call and take up our time, please be smart enough to listen to what we tell you. After all, it took us YEARS and THOUSANDS of dollars to learn the lessons we have learned.
That's my soapbox for today.

Litter Due Any Day
I apologize for not keeping my blog more up to date. Seems there just aren't enough hours in the day anymore...could it be I am slower in my old age or is life really this crazy, busy all the time? I think it is probably a combination of both.
I am preparing for my first litter of the year and if it goes like last year probably the only one...lol. Seems I have been kind of on the sidelines with my breeding for various reasons for a few years now and now I have all these girls that are 4 and up and not had a litter....so they are a little harder to get bred.
This litter is by Am. and Rus. Ch. Zuran's Sky King and out of Fandango N Lamars Heart and Soul-L (Sally). Sally is the dam of 4 Champions to date with a couple more closing in. We are hoping she will make Top Producer status one day. Her xray shows two puppies but I am wondering if there isn't a 3rd one lurking in there.
It will be Sally's last litter so I hope she and babies do fine when the time comes.

Spring is finally here...saw Robins in my yard about 3 days ago, then snow came, but quickly left. Robins stayed. Today which is March 15 I saw a tiny green grasshopper...that isn't a good sign this early.
Dog shows are starting up and I haven't gotten any even trained over the winter so I must get with it. Course they seem to do pretty well even tho I don't get to class with them or even take them to stores to walk. Live 50 miles from anywhere so they pretty much have to have the temperament to show or I sell them to someone who can get to class. It has worked for me pretty well.
I am excited that we are breeding Chuckie's dam, Sally, to our Ch. Zuran's Sky King this week. It will be her last litter and we hope it will help put her to possibly being a top Producer. Time will tell.
Natalia is in season and she will probably be bred this cycle. She is over 4 years old and only had one litter of 2 about 2 years ago and both those will be shown hopefully this year...one is major pointed.
Well that is all I had to share today. I am looking at show schedules and actually plan on trying to hit a couple shows myself this year. Last year I think I made it to two shows and the rest of the time I used handlers on my dogs.

Wally and Sammie At 12 Weeks
Scotch and Gilly's kids are now 12 weeks old today (Feb 17, 2013). They are quite the characters and both are very nice so far. Temperaments are very terrier like and they are just full of themselves. They are outstanding in body type and very nice angulation and toplines/tailsets. I am very please with how these two are turning out so far. Both are available and will be ready to go to their new homes soon. Believe it or not, their mom is still wanting to be with them so I am just now gradually pulling her away. They just had their 2nd shot yesterday so will be 4 weeks before they get their last one. Contact me if you want more photos or information.

2012 VERY SUCCESSFUL YEAR AT LAMARS
As 2012 is quickly coming to a close we are winding down our show season for the year also. Here in the Midwest I am done until January.
In California, though, Lisa will have Kale out until Mid December. He will be attending shows in California, Arizona and probably his last for the year will be the Eukanuba National Show in Florida mid December.
We are so proud of our dogs this year...of course, we are always proud of them and how well they represent us.
This year we finished 5 Champions here and another of our home bred dogs finished his Championship with his owner Pat Anders and a girl we owned and sold at 2 yrs of age also completed her Ch this year.....so actually 7 Lamars dogs have finished. (Many more have been out there showing and are pointed.) Then we had Kale get his Grand Ch this year and remain ranked in the Top 15 (right now he is #10 smooth coat). And our main man Frankie that was sold last December was shown by his owner Alicia Perez to his Grand Ch. this year.
We also have a boy, Blaze, that is doing fantastic in agility. I will have to get the list of his agility titles and post them. He is going to Eukanuba with his Junior Handler in December also. So our dogs are well rounded with temperament being foremost to us...
Champions are as follows: Ch. Lamars Guilty Pleasure-S (bred by us), Ch. Cogie's Might Griffin (has a Lamars dad), Ch. Saiyai @ Lamars Pretty Girl (has a Lamars mom), Ch. Fandango Lamars Hot Sensation (has a Lamars dam), Ch. Lamars Blaze To Glory (bred by us), Ch. Lamars Belle of the Ball (has lamars parents and was owned by me for 2 years), Ch. Belcanto Lamars Foolish Pleasure-L (bred by us and owned by Pat Anders) and Grand Ch. TJS and Lamars True Grit-S (has lamars parents and owned by us) and Grand Ch. Hurd's Blazin The Way At Lamar-s (owned by us for almost 5 years and sold to Alicia Perez who obtained his Grand Ch.
Looking forward to next year. If you want a winner...get a Lamars puppy. Pictured is Gilly...Ch. Lamars Guilty Pleasure-S who is for sale ... if you want a boy with temperament, soundness and movement look no further.
